Summer 2026 has been bountiful to us as artists. Midsummer Magic was curated as a group show celebrating the magic our 8 artists help usher into the world through their poetry with materials. Summer gives us the opportunity to embrace our inner child and play. Midsummer Magic is a call to honor those notions and experience it first hand. The exhibition includes diverse practices of realism, abstraction, ceramics and sculpture.
Russ Bryant’s Steel sculptures are distinctly curled and shaped to evoke the playfulness of our childhood, dreams and the capacity to take an ordinary material and shape it into lyrics.
Brenda M. Grajeda’s textural abstractions are graceful, ethereal, evoking timelessness, stillness and calm all while holding a tension of something outside ourselves.
Rocio G. Montiel’s newest series, “The Colors of Intimacy” is meticulous, yet playful, each line, dot and curve draws us into a world of intrigue, seduction and charm.
BJO’s women in various shapes and colors ask us to look within and without to sum up what we are each doing to extricate ourselves from ourselves.
Pamela Knoll’s portraiture encapsulates the purest essence of her subject. Each brushstroke captures some tiny amount of body language which whispers sensitivity.
evan Fecko’s exploration though ceramics of organic forms in the context of a vase and the exploration of one of life’s most utilitarian objects: the tire. But not just any tire, these are scaled to display on a wall or as an objet d’art.
Agyei James shares his journey in plasters and oils of the strengths and fragility of life. Bold, strong, yet sensitive and playful, each holds us spellbound.
Nothing evokes summer more than this collection of oil paintings like Emma Holmstrom’s works with vivid colors that reflect the sun from the faces of her subjects and moments timeless nostalgia.
